Residence in Canada are able to take advantage of many free health care options. Ontario Health Insurance Plan coverage is available to anyone who is a resident of the country. Right from birth, someone is covered and does not need to pay most of their medical expenses. The kind of care that is included, covers things like doctor visits and hospital care.
Visiting a family doctor or walk in doctor, does not need to cost any money. That is because OHIP pays for it. The doctor simply swipes a special health card when the patient arrives, and that bills the service directly to the government. The patient can then spend as much time as they need to, visiting the doctor and inquiring about health issues.
Ontario does not pay for prescription medicine for people, those expenses need to be paid by the patients. Many people will have coverage for medicine through their work or a private insurance company. When someone does not have any coverage through insurance, they have to pay for the costs themselves.

People can stay in a ward for free as long as they need a room. The only rooms that are not covered, are ones that are semi private or completely private. If someone wishes to have a more private stay in the hospital they can use their own health care coverage, or pay for the additional costs on their own.
If an ambulance is called out to someones home or work place, there is a fee charged to the patient. The fee is fairly small, but is not covered by OHIP. The bill is sent out to people’s homes, where they have to submit a check or credit card payment.
Residents of Canada, enjoy having free health coverage. It helps out with doctor appointments and any hospital visits that have to be made. Families do not have to stress about someone getting sick, because there is coverage for most medical needs. When there is no medical coverage, it may be stressful for someone who has to see a doctor or take a loved one to a family doctor, however when there is no cost, it is easier to make appointments.
Not only does Ontario Health Insurance Plan coverage and Travel Insurance Canada cover medical expenses, it also helps with eye care for kids, as well as visitors to Canada health insurance. Children up to a certain age are able to receive free eye exams once a year. Eye wear is not covered by this coverage plan, however most insurance companies who are private will pay for all or some of the eye glasses. Having free health care is a great way to keep people healthy and at little cost to the patients.
